A well-established manufacturing business in East Kent is on the lookout for a HR & Payroll Clerk to join their team on a permanent basis. If you’ve got a solid understanding of employment law and enjoy being part of a busy, supportive team, this could be a perfect fit.
Payroll experience would be a bonus but don’t worry if you don’t have it yet, full training will be provided!
Duties Include:
1. Prepare and process payroll for both weekly and monthly employees
2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation
3. Support recruitment administration, including coordinating interviews and onboarding new starters
4. Respond to employee queries regarding HR policies, payroll, and general employment matters
5. Ensure compliance with current employment legislation and internal policies
6. Assist with HR processes such as absence tracking, holiday records, and employee updates
7. Provide general administrative support across HR and payroll as required
The ideal candidate will have/be:
8. A good understanding of employment law and HR best practices
9. Previous experience in an HR or payroll administration role
10. Payroll system experience is beneficial, but not essential as training can be provided
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional approach
12. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
13. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
14. Able to prioritise workload and stay organised in a busy environment
15. Good administrative and organisational skills
16. Experience working in a fast-paced office setting
17. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
