Join us as a Care Assistant Day at Steel Consulting. We are looking for compassionate caregivers who support residents with a detailed care plan and personal care during the day, ensuring independence, dignity and a person‑centred approach.
Pay: £12.40 – £12.80 per hour
Contract Type: Permanent
Contract Hours: 36 hours per week (alternate weekends)
Location: high Wycombe – Ryeview Manor
Duties & Responsibilities
* Work in line with the company's culture and ethos promoting commitment, connection and compassion.
* Use the Mobile Care Monitoring (MCM) device effectively.
* Support residents with all aspects of personal care while maintaining independence and privacy.
* Ensure residents are dressed appropriately and have access to their aids.
* Manage residents' clothing and report any necessary repairs.
* Serve meals and prepare/clear the dining area.
* Assist with meals in a dignified, respectful manner, maintaining a calm atmosphere.
* Observe and report physical, physiological and emotional changes to senior staff.
* Meet residents' social, emotional and cultural needs and participate in recreational activities.
* Encourage residents to use the environment, including the outdoors, according to their mobility needs.
* Act as key worker in accordance with the care home guidelines.
* Prepare and serve refreshments as required.
* Leave bedrooms presentable: bed making, tidying, bin emptying.
* Promote good housekeeping across the home.
* Clean toilets and showers in compliance with infection control guidelines.
* Maintain awareness of medication procedures.
* Distribute clean clothing and linen to the appropriate residents and areas.
* Understand the B&M Care Quality Management System policies and procedures.
* Produce legible and accurate documentation in care plans and the MCM system.
* Participate in reviews and assessments.
* Assist senior staff with the admission of new residents, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
* Attend all training sessions, supervisions, appraisals, handovers and staff meetings.
