Duties of the Dealership Accountant
* Lead and manage the accounts department ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial data
* Produce management accounts and forecasts in line with company policies and deadlines
* Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, purchase, and sales ledgers
* Prepare and review manufacturer composite information and stock valuations
* Provide financial guidance and support to departmental managers
* Conduct inductions and ongoing training for accounts team members
* Monitor and improve department efficiency and compliance with legislation
* Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial data
* Assist with month-end procedures and year-end audit preparations
Candidate specification for the Dealership Accountant
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Assistant Accountant or Accountant within a dealership environment
* Familiarity with CDK/Kerridge systems highly preferred
* Strong understanding of dealership accounts and financial reporting
* Leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to meet strict deadlines and work accurately under pressure
* Knowledge of current financial regulations and best practices in automotive finance
