Litigation Paralegal (Personal Injury, Insurance, Civil Litigation), Belfast.
Overview
Our client is a respected litigation-focused law firm with offices in both Belfast and Dublin, advising a broad client base of insurers, individuals, and commercial entities across Ireland. Known for their expertise in civil litigation, personal injury, and cross-border insurance disputes, the firm offers a practical, solutions-driven approach.
They are currently seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their growing team. This is a hands on role with strong scope for development, supporting solicitors in the management of cases from instruction through to resolution. The successful candidate will primarily focus on Northern Ireland litigation, with occasional exposure to Republic of Ireland matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting solicitors in the management of litigation files from pre-action through to trial
* Drafting legal correspondence, pleadings, and court documents
* Preparing discovery lists and managing disclosure processes
* Liaising with clients, counsel, expert witnesses, and court offices across both NI and ROI
* Instructing and coordinating medical evidence and expert reports
* Compiling court bundles and briefing counsel for hearings
* Conducting legal research and referencing legislation and case law
* Keeping accurate file records using case management systems
* Attending court and settlement conferences where required
Essential Skills and Experience
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a litigation paralegal role
* ABB at A-Level or a law degree from a UK or ROI university
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
* Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
* High level of accuracy, with strong attention to detail
* Strong grammar, spelling, and written communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
* Confident communication with clients, colleagues, and counsel
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Advanced IT proficiency, including Adobe and Excel
* Experience using Leap or Insight case management systems
* Familiarity with Republic of Ireland litigation processes
* Experience working on motor claims, credit hire, or PIAB-related matters
* Previous experience managing challenging client interactions
