Operations Manager Ballymoney £65k - £75k Vickerstock is collaborating with one Europe's biggest and best crushing and screening companies based in Ballymoney to assist them with the recruiting of an Operations Manager. The role involves planning, organising, developing, directing, and overseeing the activities of the production team to achieve both short- and long-term goals and objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with the team in all aspects to ensure the safety, profitability, and overall success of the operation. This includes, but is not limited to, providing leadership and supervision of team members within a continuous improvement environment, applying lean principles, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people. Your key responsibilities as an Operations Manager; Improve the capabilities & capacity of the manufacturing unit, achieving Build To Schedule (BTS), On Time Delivery (OTD) & cost targets. Efficiently integrate new products into production and work with external sites on pipeline products. Lead, develop & motivate staff towards the achievement of targets & objectives on an ongoing basis. Act as an integral part of the site's Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure common understanding of capacity, build schedule and sequence, and supply constraints affecting our schedules. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance productivity and cost efficiency. Manage team performance by setting and monitoring annual SMART goals in line with the High-Performance framework. Take overall responsibility for equipment maintenance and training within your area. Strategically plan headcount, production costs, and expenditure to remain within budget and targets. Identify production CAPEX requirements to support organisational strategies and maintain capabilities. Work closely with the leadership team to drive operational improvements, order fulfilment, quality control, and shipping. Assess and promptly act on internal and external quality feedback from key department managers. Develop, review, and manage production and distribution budgets to achieve financial objectives. Train, mentor, and support direct reports in recruitment, staff development, disciplinary actions, and HR policies. As an Operations Manager, ideally you will have; Educated to a third-level qualification in an engineering or business-related subject and/or a minimum of three years' experience managing a team, preferably in a heavy engineering environment. Extensive experience in manufacturing management within a lean, heavy equipment manufacturing environment. Experience in planning and coordinating production schedules to meet customer and shipping requirements.
