Heavy Duty Plant Fitter £24 £26 per hour
Location: Kirkby, Merseyside (Recycling Yard)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Duty Plant Fitter to join a busy recycling and aggregates operation based in Kirkby. This is a long-term, stable opportunity working on a wide range of heavy plant and wash plant equipment.
Salary & Hours:
* £24.00 £26.00 per hour
* Overtime rate: £32.00 per hour
* Monday to Friday: 07:00 17:00
* Saturday: 07:00 12:00 (as required)
* Additional hours available for maintenance and emergency repairs
* 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)

Key Responsibilities:
* Maintenance, servicing, and repair of heavy plant machinery (excavators, loading shovels, crushers, screeners, wash plant)
* Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
* Planned preventative maintenance to maximise uptime
* Monitoring and maintaining wash plant performance and output quality
* Completing accurate service and maintenance records
* Working closely with operators, fitters, and management teams
* Ensuring all work is carried out in line with strict health & safety standards
Requirements:
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
* Previous experience with heavy plant machinery essential
* Experience with aggregate wash plant equipment highly desirable
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Reliable, self-motivated, and safety conscious
* Basic computer literacy for reporting and records
* Flexible to work overtime and weekends when required
Working Environment:
* Outdoor yard and workshop-based role
* Physically demanding work in all weather conditions
