Who You Are A qualified Property Lawyer admitted as a Solicitor, Barrister, or a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with a right of audience in County Court proceedings or soon to attain one. You have significant experience in advocacy and handling both residential and commercial property work, with a strong understanding of Housing law and recent legislative changes. You possess excellent communication and advocacy skills, and are driven by a "can-do" attitude. You're adaptable to changing demands and are committed to delivering results sustainably and responsibly. What the Job Involves As a Property Lawyer in the Housing and Property Team – Legal Services, you will conduct a full range of conveyancing work for the Council. You'll handle complex and routine acquisitions and disposals, including sales to Council tenants and dealing with Housing Associations. Your responsibilities include preparing for and conducting legal cases, supervising document preparation, consulting on legal matters relating to easements, covenants, and compulsory purchase orders. You will also contribute to service planning, development of policy in functional areas, and foster both internal and external professional relationships. Additionally, you will engage in continuous improvement processes to enhance service efficiency.
