Are you an enthusiastic and engaging person with a good imagination? Do you love working with elderly people? CARE HOME NAME is recruiting an Activities/Wellbeing Coordinator to join their team!
Your Duties...
1. Work with the Home Manager and Head of Dementia & Wellbeing to engage with and implement Advinia’s Wellbeing and Engagement Programme - S.P.E.C.S.
2. Design and organise, in conjunction with Residents, a range of person-centred, stimulating, meaningful, and engaging activities within the Home.
3. Develop, manage, and coordinate new and ongoing meaningful engagement programmes that encourage Residents to maintain pre-existing interests and hobbies.
4. Encourage colleagues, Residents, Relatives, and Friends to participate in the Home's meaningful engagement programme and help embed a whole-home approach to activities.
5. Arrange trips and outings to enable Residents to engage in offsite activities to maintain their hobbies and interests.
6. Support in creating an engaging and stimulating environment throughout the Home that is appropriate to Residents' needs.
7. In conjunction with the Home Manager, agree on and undertake fundraising opportunities to supplement activities budget.
8. Maintain an activities budget, in conjunction with the Home Manager, for resources, outings, and entertainment.
9. Keep full and accurate records of activity budget spend.
10. Encourage, involve, and support Residents in deciding on activities via the development of a Resident’s Committee, ensuring all Residents have a voice and opportunity to contribute and provide feedback.
11. Ensure risk assessments are completed for all activities and outings and reviewed as appropriate.
12. Maximise the use of resources available to support meaningful activities, such as Band App, Advinia Monthly themes, Moments that Matter initiative, My Life TV, Daily Sparkle, and Advinia Virtual Tours.
13. Develop activities based on Advinia’s monthly themes, incorporating each area of the S.P.E.C.S programme.
14. Recognise that some Residents may prefer or need individualised 1-2-1 activities instead of group activities, and plan accordingly.
