Technical Manager / Junior Technical Manager (HVAC)
Salary: Up to £55k (dependent on experience) plus vehicle

Out of Hours Call Out: 1 in 4 management rota
We are looking for an experienced and progressive Technical Manager – or a developing professional ready to step into a Junior Technical Manager role – to join our client's growing team.
The ideal candidate will be a career-conscious professional with a background in building services (mechanical and electrical). You will support and lead technical efforts, complete tenders, conduct contract surveys, and provide costs, maintenance schedules, and timelines in line with compliance standards (including SFG20). Additionally, you’ll assist in managing small works projects, ensuring a proactive and professional approach that consistently exceeds client expectations.

This is a pivotal position, maintaining and strengthening client trust and confidence in our company and the services we provide. You’ll ensure technical contract issues are managed by competent and suitable resources while providing strategic oversight and hands-on support.
For a Junior Technical Manager, this role offers development opportunities under the guidance of experienced managers, with structured mentoring to progress into a full Technical Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist Account Managers with contract reviews and renewals, ensuring effective, compliant, and profitable delivery.
* Work with clients to produce condition, dilapidation, and plant life expectancy reports, including recommendations, payback timeframes, and sustainability improvements.
* Be commercially aware, identifying and driving extra works and sales activities to grow revenue and strengthen client relationships.
* Undertake condition surveys and risk assessments on contracts to evaluate liabilities or previous maintenance issues.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and business partners, ensuring high client satisfaction and retention.
* Manage and conduct site and subcontractor audits, reviewing quality, workmanship, and value for money.
* Support Account Managers in auditing contract delivery against expectations, ensuring compliance and profitability.
* Review tenders and advise on technical suitability in conjunction with senior management.
* Identify and act on Health, Safety, and Environmental issues related to contracts.
* Provide technical guidance and office-based support to operations teams, clients, and engineers.
* Address site-based H&S issues, escalating where necessary to the SHEQ Manager or responsible Director.
About You
Essential:
* Level 3 (minimum) trade qualification in at least one discipline (mechanical or electrical)
* Strong knowledge of building services and maintenance practices
* Experience supervising or supporting multidisciplinary maintenance teams
* Full UK driving licence
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Desirable:
* IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification
* Multi-skilled background (mechanical/electrical)
* Experience or knowledge of Heat Networks
