Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical roles. NHSGGC delivers acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to over 1.15 million people in the local area and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
Shift Pattern and Working Hours
Day shift: 08:30‑16:30. Back shift (details available upon request).
Effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time Agenda for Change posts will be 36 hours per week (previously 37). Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata but the hourly rate will increase so pay is unaffected.
Responsibilities
* Perform basic respiratory/sleep diagnostic investigations.
* Carry out clerical duties and maintain patient documentation.
* Clean equipment and clinical areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
Essential Qualifications
* Standard Grade level 5 (preferably in Science or Maths).
* Excellent communication skills.
* Basic computer skills.
Preferable Qualifications
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
Training and On‑Boarding
Knowledge of departmental protocols will be attained over 3 months (6 months for PT posts) during a mandatory hospital induction course. Completion of the in‑house training programme on basic sleep diagnostics and preparation for advanced procedures is required.
