To help us achieve our expansion ambitions, we are looking for an Installation Operative to join our growing team. If you have experience in civil engineering, the construction industry, or a military background, and seek a career with excellent progression opportunities, this role is ideal for you.
You will be based at our Bedford branch but will primarily work on customer sites, including construction, wastewater, and clean water projects, with occasional visits to the branch.
Responsibilities:
* Promote and uphold the company's mission and values to deliver high-quality installation services across the UK.
* Install pipework, assist drivers with vehicle loading/unloading, and check paperwork for accuracy, missing items, damages, and fuel charges.
* This is a physically demanding role; good fitness is required.
* Identify and suggest creative solutions to improve business efficiency and attractiveness.
* Prioritize safety at all times, demonstrating confidence and knowledge to halt work if safety issues arise, and inform supervisors accordingly.
* Work effectively on client sites, including construction, wastewater, and clean water projects.
* Be flexible with working hours and participate in an 'on call' rota, likely one weekend in three.
* Willingness to travel across the UK and work away from home when necessary.
* Hold a full UK driving license (no more than 6 points).
Preferred qualifications (not essential):
* Construction Skills CSCS card
* National Water Hygiene Card
* Confined space training
* Forklift operator certification
* Understanding of temporary/permanent pumping solutions
This role involves working at heights, in confined spaces, lone working, and handling sewage.
