Offer description

About Us

The Dunblane Church of Scotland Grouping (DCG) serves a vibrant community of about 13,000 people. Around 41% are under 40 years old, and about 42% report no religious affiliation. While we're blessed with strong community ties, good local organisations, and plenty of opportunity, there are also challenges—things like isolation, limited youth spaces, and a wish from many for fresh ways to worship and connect.

We are seeking someone who can lead, energise, and expand our outreach, especially among the under-40s, to help create meaningful relationships and new patterns of worship that speak to modern life.

The Role

As Christian Outreach Leader, you will:

- Be a visible presence in the Dunblane area, forging connections with individuals, families, community groups, and schools—especially among people under 40 and those exploring faith.

- Explore, develop, and help run new forms of worship and Christian community life that are relevant, welcoming, and engaging.

- Encourage participation in worship and spiritual life—inside and outside of formal church settings.

- Support personal faith journeys—help people grow in confidence, belonging, and connection.

You'll work closely with the current ministry team, volunteers, and our Leadership Team (LT, made up of elders and church representatives). You'll report quarterly on progress, be involved in planning, and have responsibility for the outreach budget. You'll also take part in regular worship across the churches in the grouping (schedule to be agreed).

What We're Looking For

We hope to find someone who:

- Has a committed, living Christian faith, and is excited to share it in new ways.

- Is comfortable talking about faith with people who may have little or no church connection.

- Can build relationships easily and work collaboratively with volunteers, team members, and community partners.

- Is creative and proactive—able to dream up and launch new initiatives, events or worship experiences.

* Has good communication skills (verbal, written, digital / social media) and is comfortable organising their own time and priorities.
* An ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries at all times.

Desirable but not essential:

- Experience in leading worship or participating in different worship styles.

- Background in working with young people, families.

- Skills in planning events from start to finish.

- Experience in recruiting / leading volunteers.

* Diploma or higher level of education, or significant relevant and recent work or voluntary experience.

Reporting To:

The Parish Ministers, Dunblane Cathedral; Kilmadock & Blair Drummond; and St Blane's Church
