Job Description
Group Board Member & Commercial Board Member
North East England | Non-Executive Appointment
Remuneration: circa £6,000 per annum
An ambitious, values-led organisation with significant regional impact is seeking to appoint a Group Board Member who will also join its Commercial Board.
Operating at scale across the North East, the organisation manages a substantial housing and property portfolio, employs over 600 colleagues and provides services to more than 60,000 customers. This organisation combines strong commercial awareness with a clear social purpose, investing heavily in homes, communities, employability, financial inclusion and long-term regional opportunity. Alongside its core operations, it also oversees a commercially focused subsidiary operating within a “profit for purpose” model, generating surplus to reinvest back into communities.
We are seeking an experienced executive or non-executive leader who can bring:
️ Strategic and commercial insight at board level
️ Experience operating within complex or evolving organisations
️ Strong governance, risk and decision-making capability
️ The ability to balance support and constructive challenge
️ Experience contributing to organisational transformation and growth
️ Confidence operating across both commercial and social purpose environments
The successful candidate will play an important role in helping shape long-term strategy, overseeing commercial growth, supporting organisational sustainability and ensuring strong governance and accountability.
This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to an organisation delivering meaningful social and economic impact across the North East, while helping shape the future direction of a commercially ambitious and community-focused business.
The organisation is fully committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and particularly welcomes applications from individuals currently underrepresented at board level.
North East residency preferred for practical purposes.
