Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will join an established team responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of care to meet the health and wellbeing needs of our patients in line with our core values and professional frameworks. This includes all aspects of the patient journey from admission to procedure and safe discharge. Patient comfort, early recognition and management of endoscopy complications, vital signs and cannulation are also key aspects of this role.
The candidate will be required to complete mandatory training, participate in continuing professional development and attend regular appraisals.
The candidate will be required to undertake a range of activities required to ensure the smooth and safe day‑to‑day running of the endoscopy unit, including maintenance of stock, completion of daily checklists and audits.
Experience
* Experience of working in an Endoscopy Unit or similar
* Awareness of clinical governance and relevance to practice
* Evidence of clinical competency in endoscopy
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with appropriate NMC registration. ODP Registration.
* Diploma or degree in Nursing
Skills and Abilities
* Able to or willing to learn cannulation.
* Ability to prioritise and organise workload.
* Able to evaluate information to aid decision making.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Basic IT skills
