About the Company: We’re recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing construction and maintenance company based in Essex, specialising in the inspection, maintenance, and compliance of passive fire protection across local authority and social housing properties. With an established team of industry experts and a strong reputation for quality and compliance, the company is now looking to nurture new talent by hiring a Junior or Trainee Passive Fire Surveyor. About the Role: This is a fantastic opportunity for someone newly qualified or looking to start their career in the passive fire protection industry. Working alongside experienced FIRAS and BM TRADA-certified professionals, you’ll gain hands-on experience conducting fire safety surveys, assisting with reporting, and learning best practices in fire compliance across a wide range of residential properties. Key Responsibilities: * Support senior surveyors in carrying out passive fire surveys, including fire doors and fire stopping * Assist in the preparation of clear and accurate reports and documentation * Learn to identify non-compliance issues and understand how to provide appropriate recommendations * Attend training sessions and on-the-job mentoring to develop technical knowledge and practical skills * Maintain organised records of site findings, photos, and technical data * Liaise with tenants, site staff, and team members in a professional and respectful manner * Comply with all health & safety and fire safety legislation Requirements: * Recently qualified or looking to begin a career in passive fire protection (fire safety, construction, or compliance background beneficial) * Willingness to learn and develop within a supportive and experienced team * Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach * Good communication and writing skills * Basic IT proficiency (for reporting and documentation) * Full UK driving licence preferred (or working towards) What You’ll Gain: * On-the-job training with highly experienced professionals * A structured development plan with opportunities to gain industry-recognised qualifications (FIRAS, BM TRADA etc.) * Exposure to a variety of projects across social housing and local authority portfolios * A long-term career path with a growing and supportive company * Competitive salary and benefits package
