The job itself
5-year-old boy with Down's Syndrome, speech delay and sensory processing differences that resides in Wold Newton is looking for a worker to support him access activities in the community. The young person loves being outdoors, going on walks, visiting the park and being active. He also likes climbing, dancing,music, Pepper Pig and Paw Patrol
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Encouraging the recipient to engage in activities.
2. Helping to improve their social skills.Settling and supporting the individual.
3. Keeping them safe in the community.
4. Attending/transporting the individual to social activities.
5. Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
This role is for 4 hours per week, mainly on a Saturday.
The suitable candidate must:
6. Be patient, caring and understanding.
7. Be able to build a positive relationship with the child to both encourage and support them.
8. Be flexible to meet the needs of the family.
9. Have knowledge of working with or supporting a child with special needs.
10. Have current driving licence and transport.
