Smith’s Pets is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Apprentice to join their growing team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about data to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment. In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Data & Business Insights Apprenticeship, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
1. Conduct detailed analysis across a broad range of data sources, producing timely and concise results.
2. Collaborate with management and team members to create and maintain reliable, scalable, and flexible data and reporting solutions. Ensure projects are well tested and delivered on time.
3. Communicate business data outcomes appropriately to varying audiences.
4. Analyze structured and unstructured data to support business objectives.
5. Blend data from multiple sources as directed.
6. Apply legal and ethical principles when manipulating data.
7. Respond to data and IT problems promptly to minimize disruption.
8. Carry out ad-hoc data capture and cleansing tasks.
9. Demonstrate a desire and capacity to learn and understand the needs of the business.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and the Baltic team.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
* £16,000 - £18,000 per annum
* Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
* 20 days holidays plus bank holidays

Desired Qualities, Skills, and Knowledge:
* Grade 4 in Maths and 5 in English is essential.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work well within a small business and team environment.
* Attention to detail.
* Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple issues across various platforms in a dynamic environment.
