Overview
Assistant Project Manager - Renewables (Energy) role at WSP in the UK & Ireland. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering projects within the WSP Energy Transition business, across all stages of the project lifecycle. You will work to build long-term client relationships through early engagement, delivery, and handover, supporting a portfolio of projects and activities under the guidance of seasoned project managers.
Core Activities / Responsibilities
* Acting as Assistant Project Manager on projects within our portfolio.
* Regular and proactive engagement with the client and other delivery partners to promote an efficient and appropriate approach and progress.
* Ensure project deliverables meet and exceed client expectations and KPIs in respect of safety, CSR, quality, cost, and schedule.
* Ensure projects deliver expected operational targets which will support the delivery of the Energy Transition team’s P&L.
* Deliver projects in accordance with corporate governance requirements and liaise with various operations and commercial teams to deliver best practice.
* Ensure competent technical and commercial resources are secured for projects.
What We Will Look For You To Demonstrate / Qualifications
* Degree qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering subject supported with postgraduate experience in engineering project management, design and/or operation, maintenance and testing.
* Site-based project engineering experience in Renewables, ideally Solar, Wind or BESS.
* Outstanding client focus and a commitment to problem solving in a collaborative way.
* Knowledge of the design and construction of power and energy projects.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and work with people at all levels of an organisation.
* Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and offer win-win solutions.
* Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas, as required by the projects.
