About the role:
We're seeking an experienced and highly motivated Group Standards & Legislation Manager to lead regulatory compliance and standards development across JCB’s current product range and emerging technologies, including hydrogen, electric, and hybrid solutions. This role is critical in shaping policy, driving strategy, and ensuring adherence to global legislation and standards.
What does this involve day to day?
1. Drive compliance and strategy for regional regulations (UK, EU, USA, and Rest of World) related to new technologies.
2. Identify legislation gaps and influence policy and strategy development.
3. Manage Official Journal EU processes, including harmonised standards.
4. Develop compliance solutions for hydrogen products globally, ensuring alignment with international standards.
5. Oversee road regulation compliance (UK, EU) and coordinate public consultations and responses.
6. Provide external technical support for Earth Moving Machinery, Telehandlers, and new technologies, liaising with bodies such as HSE, DSNEZ, and DfT.
7. Deliver technical support for the London office.
8. Monitor and implement new regulations beyond machinery, including battery and waste battery regulations, Eco-design, and digital product passports.
9. Ensure accurate Declarations of Conformity, validate SAP updates and translations, and drive digital DoC implementation.
10. Manage contracts and subscriptions related to internal and external standards access.
11. Work with product teams to ensure compliance updates are understood and implemented correctly.

12. You have experience in regulatory compliance, standards development, and legislative strategy.
13. You have knowledge of regional and international regulations (UK, EU, USA, ROW).
14. You are confident influencing policy and driving compliance for emerging technologies.
15. You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
16. You bring a positive, proactive attitude and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
