Role Summary
Reporting to the Lead Finance Business Partner and working alongside other Finance Business Partners, you will be responsible for a portfolio of contracts providing key financial support, and you will work closely with the Operational team to improve processes and provide robust reporting to enable key decisions. You’ll support critical programmes within the Mission Systems Effectors business unit, delivering project forecasts, ensuring robust financial controls, reviewing projects to secure strong trading margins and accurate profit opportunities. You’ll be the subject matter expert providing financial support to programme and finance colleagues, including cash management reporting and commentary, maintaining financial models for analysis on current projects and new business, supporting internal and external audits, and deputising for the Lead Finance Business Partner when needed. This role is full time (37 hours per week) with hybrid working (onsite and home).
Responsibilities
* Provide financial support to a portfolio of contracts and collaborate with operational teams to drive robust reporting and decision making.
* Deliver project forecasts, maintain financial models, and analyse current projects and new business opportunities.
* Ensure robust financial controls and review margins to support profitable outcomes.
* Support internal and external audits and deputise for the Lead Finance Business Partner when required.
* Cash management reporting and commentary for programmes and finance colleagues.
Essential Experience
* Qualified accountant or working towards qualification; ability to operate across functions in a fast-moving contract accounting environment.
* Confident, self-motivated team player with good communication skills.
* Experience in a business-facing role is desirable.
* Advanced numeric, analytical, and technical skills.
* Experience within a large organisation operating an ERP system.
What else you need to know
* Flexible working policy; current practice is 1-2 days per week in the office (subject to change).
Security Clearance
