An innovative and ambitiouspany which manufactures and distributes market-leading B-2-B products on a global basis. The role will be based at their state-of-the-art site near Cannock. They are currently investing massively in to the procurement function, and are now looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to join the indirect procurement team.
Your new role
The Assistant Buyer will support the Indirect Buyer to ensure the delivery of quality and cost-effective indirect procurement.
Key responsibilities will include -
* Processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
* Liaising with suppliers regarding supply chain issues, delivery discrepancies and invoice queries.
* Support the team in negotiating, managing and monitoring supplier performance.
* Attended supplier meetings with the Indirect Buyer.
* Manage RFQ administration process.
* Work with cross-functional teams to understand procurement needs, update on purchasing cycle updates and collate supplier performance information.
* Conducting market research to identify new potential suppliers and products.
* Maintaining and updating the ERP and Excel spreadsheets.
* Producing management information reports.
* Supporting procurement projects
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will be a Procurement Assistant, Purchasing Assistant or Assistant Buyer with strong experience of supporting a procurement team to raise purchase orders, managing the end-to-end buying process and liaising with suppliers. You will be analytical, have a curious mind and have greatmunication skills.
