An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the administrative team at the Bristol & Weston Bowel Cancer Screening Programme in a full-time role as Screening Administrator, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will work in a friendly environment with a proactive team of clinical and non-clinical staff. You should have a kind, efficient and respectful approach and be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
The Bristol & Weston Bowel Cancer Screening Programme is a well-established cancer screening centre serving a population of nearly 1 million people in the Bristol and Weston area. The Bristol and Weston Centre is an early adopter of a lower screening threshold – FIT80 – which will roll out nationally at a later date.
If successful, you will be required to attend a 2 day online computer training course in order to be able to access the Bowel Cancer Screening Database. Local training in how to use the electronic patient administrative systems at both University Hospital Bristol and Weston, and at North Bristol Trust will also be required.
The working hours will be over 5 days Monday – Friday, start and finish times to be agreed between 8.00 – 18.00. No weekend or bank holiday work required.
You will possess excellent organisational, communication and IT skills and be able to provide an optimum level of customer service to patients. Previous NHS or administrative experience is not a requirement, but you will need to be a quick learner and have a proactive and positive approach. You will be self-motivated and must be able to work on your own initiative as well as in a team environment.
To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Bristol & Weston Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
To work as part of the administrative team, sharing in the rotation of daily and weekly tasks.
Data entry across various IT systems and booking outpatient and endoscopy appointments on UHBW and NBT patient administrative systems.
