The Role MJ Church is delivering a range of earthworks and civil engineering projects across the South West, with a strong order book for 2025/2026 and a promising pipeline of future opportunities. We are seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors to join our team and play a key role in managing projects from tender handover to final account. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of clients under different contract forms, including NEC, ICC, and bespoke subcontracts. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your expertise will ensure effective cost management, procurement, and contract administration, contributing to the successful delivery of our projects. Responsibilities: Lead the commercial management of projects, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Manage variations, claims, and contractual notices while maintaining compliance with company policies. Prepare and review contract documentation, including pre-contract negotiations and cost reports. Liaise with clients, employers' commercial teams, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution. Oversee procurement planning, subcontractor management, and change control processes. Monitor project budgets, preparing and agreeing on interim applications for payment and final accounts. Ensure effective value management and risk management strategies are in place. Reconcile weekly plant, material, and labour costs against project budgets. Who you are We are looking for proactive and detail-oriented professionals with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in highways projects (desirable) and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders while working collaboratively within a team. Strong knowledge and experience within the UK infrastructure sector is a must. Commercial experience within civil engineering or earthworks. Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification. Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract (desirable). BoQ option B contract essential. Valid UK Driving License.
