3-month contract role with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• The Estate Services Manager – Building Services & Maintenance will oversee cleaning and estate services operations across South West London.
• This temporary position involves managing a team of 13 cleaners (primarily static site-based with some mobile rounds), ensuring high standards of cleanliness, compliance, and service delivery.
• The role is predominantly site-based (approximately 70%) with some office/home working (30%) depending on business needs.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Line management of 13 cleaners, including performance management, supervision, and support.
• Oversee daily cleaning and estate services operations across allocated sites in South West London.
• Ensure service standards, KPIs, and compliance requirements are consistently met.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits.
• Manage staff rotas, absence, and cover arrangements.
• Support recruitment, induction, and training of cleaning staff.
• Ensure adherence to Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and respond to service requests or complaints.
• Manage equipment and materials, including use of company vehicle (new van provided).
• Report on performance and escalate operational issues where required.
Skills/Experience:
• Proven experience in estate services, cleaning services, or facilities management.
• Experience managing or supervising cleaning teams (ideally 10+ staff).
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations within cleaning/building services.
• Experience managing both static and mobile cleaning teams.
• Good organisational and rota management skills.
• Ability to conduct inspections and maintain service standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence (due to mobile rounds and van use).

• Temporary contract – 12 weeks.
• 35 hours per week.
• Limited/Umbrella: £25.20 per hour.
• Location: Vassall Road, Brixton, London (covering South West London).
