Job Overview
Hours: 12‑hour shifts; 8‑8 day and waking nights. Permanent and zero‑hours contracts available. Claimont Health is supporting a female client who has moved into the community after a prolonged hospital admission. She will be living independently in her own home with 1:1 support 24 hours a day. She enjoys walking, being outdoors and playing board games. She has a pet dog and hamster.

I am motivated and it's important to me to be doing things that that have purpose and meaning.” The client experiences complex PTSD with flashbacks and periods of dissociation that will require support. As a team we will be proactive and promote independence, maintaining a recovery‑focussed mindset. They will support with daily activities, engagement, appointments, and walking her dog. Our aim is to empower our client within the restrictions that are in place. There is a need to provide support with routine and structure, but with a flexible approach dependent on client’s wishes. There is an expectation to transport the client and her dog over the course of your shift. We are looking for high‑quality, dynamic and experienced Mental Health Support Workers. You will be working in a small team on a 1:1 basis with the client and will be supported by a Mental Health Nurse who will provide oversight and clinical leadership.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
* Mental health support worker/driver with own transport.
* Have at least 2 years’ experience within mental health settings.
* Be willing to undertake company training specific for this client.
* Be resilient and proactive.
* Have experience of lone working.
* Encourage and promote independence.
* Monitor the client’s mental and physical health and environment, escalating and reporting appropriately within the MDT, following policies and procedures.
* Have a level of physical fitness that can support the client’s activities.
* Follow care plans and risk assessments, using initiative and compassion to support daily living.
* Use initiative to react to fluctuating levels of ability and capacity.
* Support client into their local community and with local activities.
* Ensure a quality level of clinical record keeping is maintained, including incident reporting and compliance with data protection.
