Overview
We’re always on the look out for Livestock Technical Auditors to join our team at the Myton Food Group. Do you want to be part of our growth and success?
Together, we tackle business challenges, enhance our performance, and ensure our supplying farms meet the highest standards of animal welfare and industry requirements. In this role, you aren’t just an inspector; you are the bridge builder—the vital link between our high-level sustainability goals and the practical, everyday realities of life on a working farm.
Based in Colne and field-based, this role is fast-paced and you’ll be at the heart of decision-making, using audit data and emotional intelligence to drive improvements across our supply base.
Responsibilities
* Boots-on-the-Ground Diplomacy: Navigating the delicate balance of upholding strict brand reputation standards while building genuine, long-term partnerships with our farming community.
* The Trusted Advisor at the Farm Gate: Hosting collaborative sessions on farms via welfare audits to elevate standards, moving beyond "pass/fail" to coach farmers through technical challenges and create sustainable roadmaps for their businesses.
* Drive Excellence: Through developing our 5 domains auditing module.
* Sustainability & Emissions Mapping: Collecting critical emissions data and helping farmers understand their environmental impact to unlock new efficiencies and reduce business risk by working with them on specialist action plans.
* Tackling Tough Conversations: Handling difficult audit findings with fair, firm, and constructive feedback. You will have the responsibility to delist or suspend unsatisfactory suppliers when necessary to safeguard the business.
* Auditing Excellence: Completing full reviews of our direct pig and elite beef suppliers across the UK, scoring each unit within a risk matrix to ensure compliance with assurance standards, as well as our own.
* Working with Industry: Engaging with industry stakeholders, vets, and marketing groups to understand and shape legislative changes and welfare standards.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with the Agri Manager, buyers, and site operations (lairage and abattoirs) to ensure the livestock team acts as one cohesive unit.
About You
So that you are set for success, we are looking for self-starters who are exceptional communicators with the ability to influence at all levels. You will work as part of a versatile team with a can-do culture, so it’s important that you are tenacious and strive for excellence.
We are also looking for the following:
* Deep Industry Knowledge: A proven background in livestock and a strong reputation within the farming community.
* Emotional Intelligence: The ability to navigate sensitive on-farm situations and maintain relationships even when delivering difficult news.
* Technical Coaching Ability: Experience in troubleshooting farm-level challenges and translating complex sustainability data into actionable advice.
* Auditing Rigour: Prior experience in supplier management or technical auditing.
* Resilience: The ability to work independently in a field-based role and make objective, high-stakes decisions regarding supplier suitability.
