Sharp Consultancy is working with a well‑established business based in Harrogate, seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join their finance team on a 12-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on professional to lead the AP function.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, ensuring high performance and accuracy.
* Oversee the end‑to‑end AP process, including invoice processing, supplier payments, and reconciliations.
* Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices in line with company policies.
* Manage supplier relationships and act as escalation point for queries.
* Review and improve AP processes, implementing efficiencies and controls.
* Support month‑end close activities, including accruals and reporting.
* Ensure compliance with financial controls, audit requirements, and internal policies.
* Work closely with senior finance stakeholders and wider business teams.
* Assist with system improvements or finance transformation initiatives.
About You
* Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Manager / Supervisor role.
* Strong technical knowledge of AP processes, controls, and best practices.
* Experience managing and developing a team.
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
* Confident using finance systems and Excel.
* Experience working in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
* Immediate or short notice availability preferred.
