Senior Computer Vision / Applied ML Engineer Oxfordshire - Onsite £150k with Significant Equity An early-stage technology company is hiring a Senior Computer Vision / Applied ML Engineer to help build next-generation perception systems. This is a high-impact opportunity within a small, high-calibre team, where you’ll work across both geometric computer vision and machine learning, contributing to the core development of advanced vision pipelines and helping translate research into robust, real-world systems. You’ll be involved in a mix of vision algorithm development, model training, and system optimisation, with a focus on improving performance, robustness, and scalability across real-world environments. What you’ll be doing: Developing and improving core computer vision pipelines (e.g. geometry, spatial understanding, depth-related problems) Building and running ML experiments, including training, benchmarking, and evaluation Working with complex datasets to prepare, curate, and optimise model performance Supporting inference and deployment pipelines, including optimisation for real-world use Contributing to reproducible workflows, ensuring research outputs translate into reliable engineering systems Evaluating system performance across accuracy, speed, and robustness metrics What they’re looking for: Strong background in computer vision and/or machine learning with solid theoretical foundations PhD strongly preferred (Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics, Mathematics, Physics, or similar) Track record of academic excellence, ideally from a top-tier university Additional postdoctoral or research experience is highly valued Evidence of rigorous thinking through publications, research, or complex technical work Experience with vision systems, ML pipelines, or real-world model deployment Comfortable working in a hands-on, high-ownership environment Why consider it: Early-stage company with strong growth potential High level of ownership and technical influence Opportunity to work on challenging, real-world vision ML problems Collaborative, high-performing team If this is a role that's interesting to you, then apply now or reach out to Mitch Wheaton at IC Resources.
