Job Description
As the General Manager you will be responsible for the overall leadership, commercial performance, and operational excellence bringing together independent food traders, high-volume hospitality, events and community-driven experiences in the heart of the new town of Brabazon. You will input from conception through to operational delivery, a great opportunity to make a real difference in one of the most exciting projects in the Southwest.
The role combines strategic leadership with highly visible operational management the senior on-site leader, balancing hospitality standards, operational delivery, stakeholder relationships, and team culture within this fast-paced, high-footfall environment.
* Provide overall leadership and direction across multiple hospitality outlets including bars, restaurants, cafés, events and community spaces.
* Create a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
* Curation and delivery of a packed events programme, from regular locally delivered performances to encourage consistent foot fall, sports fan zone experiences through to large-scale live and high-profile events.
* Support live activations, brand partnerships, and seasonal campaigns.
* Build strong relationships with independent food traders, acting as primary operational partner and support.
* Engage with local charities, small business and communities, to ensure the venue is supporting local.
* Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain exceptional service standards aligned with premium guest and client expectations.
* Lead from the front during peak trading and major events while ensuring consistent operational execution.
* Hold accountability for site-level financial performance including revenue, labour, and controllable costs.
* Ensure operational readiness for special events and peak trading periods.
* Full ownership of venue-wide P&L, forecasting and financial performance.
* Driving profitability through smart programming, cost control and commercial innovation.
* Reporting performance across all revenue streams.
* Ensuring compliance with leases, management agreements and contracts.
Qualifications
* Experience as a General Manager or Senior Operations Manager within hospitality, food halls, events venues, stadia or high-volume restaurants and pubs.
* Experience managing complex, multi-outlet environments with a range stakeholder.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen. Full ownership of venue-wide P&L, forecasting and financial performance.
* Driving profitability through smart programming, cost control and commercial innovation.
* Clear communication of reporting performance across all revenue streams to a range of stakeholders.
* Ensuring compliance with leases, management agreements and contracts.
* Proven leadership of large operational teams, demonstrating the ability to lead, innovate and create a positive workplace culture in line with BaxterStorey values.
* Experience working with independent operators or multi-brand environments desirable.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
* Personal Licence Holder and ability to act as DPS if require (or willingness to undertake)
