As an Audiologist you will be responsible for supporting your line manager in ensuring the clinical quality of the Adult Audiology Service, ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high quality care.
The post holder will work unsupervised providing routine audiological assessment and rehabilitation to a wide range of patients. The role involves participation in supervision and training of students. The post holder will be given training in more advanced techniques and must maintain continuous professional development whilst working towards higher levels of professional competence. We offer all of our band 5 audiologists the opportunity to observe all specialist clinics to support their decision making in their career development.
Main duties of the job
1. Key areas of responsibility are to provide routine audiological assessment and aural rehabilitation for adults, which includes providing counselling to distressed patients about their hearing loss and associated problems, and to have the ability to make decisions about the most appropriate course of treatment for the patient in their care (referring to senior staff when appropriate).
2. The post holder will assist in the day-to-day running of the Audiology Service to include maintenance of the highest levels of health and safety.
3. They will maintain a programme of continuing professional development (CPD) working towards higher levels of professional competence.
4. We are a UKAS accredited site and the post-holder will be involved in maintaining accreditation through participation in competency assessments and audits.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
5. BSc in Audiology with clinical competency or equivalent
Desirable criteria
6. Membership of BAA/BSA
7. Professional Registration as a Physiologist (AHCS) or Clinical Scientist (HCPC)
Experience
Essential criteria
8. Successful completion of clinical placement as part of BSc/MSc or equivalent.
9. Performance of all basic audiological techniques.
Desirable criteria
10. Further experience and training gained through attending courses and in house clinical training
Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities
Essential criteria
11. Skills for assessing and interpreting test results
12. Ability to maintain concentration in order to obtain accurate results throughout busy clinics
13. Applying information to the use and application of appropriate hearing aids for adult users.
