This is an opportunity for an Associate Fire Engineer to join our thriving team and develop the South-East region based out of our London office. This vibrant area has lots to offer, with London Bridge, the Thames footpath, and Borough Market right on the doorstep. Our Fire Engineering team is one of the UK’s largest operating within a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy. Its growing reputation for quality and responsiveness has resulted in exceptional growth, and the group is now represented in all regional capitals within England, Scotland, and Wales.
You will work closely with colleagues of various disciplines within the London and South East region and have an existing project portfolio that includes high-profile projects with regional, national, and international clients.

London and South East is one of six regions the Fire Engineering Division operates in across the UK and international markets, with over 100 staff in the Fire Safety Division.
Projects:
We have a diverse portfolio, including sectors such as Residential, Commercial, Education, Aviation, Battery Storage, Data Centers, Healthcare, High-Hazard, and Nuclear.
The Team Provides The Following Services To Clients:
* Advisement on applicable codes, standards, and guidance
* Fire engineering design and analysis
* Fire strategy development
* Regulatory code compliance advisement
* Means of escape design and analysis
* Evacuation analysis and pedestrian flow modelling
* Structural fire protection design and analysis
* Structural optimization analysis
* Fire impact analysis
* External fire spread analysis
* Smoke control design and analysis
* Computational Fluid Dynamic Analysis
* Design and specification of fire protection systems
* Construction phase consultation
* Third-party peer review
Post Occupation Services:
* Fire management plan development
* Fire evacuation plan development
* Fire risk assessment
As an Associate Fire Engineer, you will have project management responsibilities for fire engineering delivery. You will support the Director of Fire Engineering in implementing the company business plan, managing a team of up to ten people, supporting existing clients, and developing new opportunities.
Your Role Will Include:
* Leading a team delivering Fire Engineering design on multiple projects
* Managing team projects and providing technical support
* Ensuring effective project time management within scope
* Providing early-stage strategic input at concept design
* Contributing to detailed design through to post-occupancy evaluation
* Writing and contributing to fee proposals
* Reviewing technical documents and fire strategies
* Ensuring team well-being and reasonable working hours
Requirements:
* BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng or equivalent qualification
* Ideally affiliated with IFE or equivalent, with chartership in progress or achieved
* Proven experience as a Senior/Principal Engineer managing a project portfolio
* Good understanding of the Planning process (Gateway One)
* Knowledge of the Building Safety Act and the role of the Building Safety Regulator (Gateways 2 & 3)
* Familiarity with fire safety guidance and codes (e.g., BS 9991, BS 9999, BS 9251, Fire Safety Order 2005, NFCC, BS 7974, PAS 9980)
* Experience with façade/cladding inspection and assessment
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
* Capability to work on diverse projects from concept to handover
* Experience in business development and client networking
* Leadership skills in developing fire strategies and research initiatives
* Ability to manage junior fire engineers and deliver quality solutions on time
* Commitment to career development of team members
* Outgoing, confident, and excellent interpersonal communication skills
* Self-starter with tenacity in task completion
