We are looking for a Night Repair and Maintenance Supervisor to join Thames Water on a permanent basis.
As a Repair and Maintenance (R&M) Night Supervisor, your role is to provide technical, problem-solving expert support both on-site and remotely to ensure quality repairs are undertaken on the water network.
What will you be doing as a Night Repair and Maintenance Supervisor?
Your role will work with and coach repair and maintenance teams to deliver for customers in a right-first-time, effective way of working, always keeping a priority focus on health and safety.
We will be recruiting Repair & Maintenance Night Supervisor across the Thames Valley
You would be working Sunday – Thursday 21:00 – 07:00 – 45-hour week
1. You will support the on-site delivery of repair and maintenance activities within SLA to achieve business and customer outcomes in the most timely, safe and cost-effective way.
2. Oversee more complex repairs on-site, for example, deep excavations and provide on-site validation of permits to break ground.
3. Provide technical support and expertise to help teams comply with health and safety through all aspects of the repair.
4. Mentor and coach less experienced team members to develop their technical skills and ability to operate in a compliant, safe and effective manner.
5. Engage with our customers and councils to get work delivered in a timely manner with minimal disruption.
6. Work to reduce leakage and the number and length of service interruptions in your area and support our ability to ensure we are always ready to respond.
7. Undertake competency assessments of the R&M teams to ensure H&S compliance, and quality of work and to support ongoing skills development.

8. Manage operational frontline teams for repair and maintenance activities, with a strong focus on health & safety and quality standards.
9. Have a good understanding of water networks.
10. Utilise analytical and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
11. Engage with customers, councils and wider stakeholder relationships to help work get delivered in a timely manner with minimal disruption.
12. Champion change through a passion for continuous improvement, promoting best practice ways of working and sharing local knowledge.
13. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to coach and optimise the performance of your frontline teams.
14. Effectively manage operational risk through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
15. Be IT literate as all repair and maintenance work is managed electronically.
16. Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving licence is essential.
Additional skills and experiences would be great to have, however, we will provide full training:
17. EUSR Water Hygiene card.
18. Street works qualification. (NRSWA)/SMSTS
19. Service Avoidance L2.
20. First aid qualification.
21. Asbestos and COSHH awareness.
22. Abrasive wheels and manual handling training, as well as Confined Space awareness, are desirable.
