Job Summary
Langley are a friendly, supportive and thriving practice looking for a GP to work 4-8 sessions. The practice has an excellent team of GPs, practice nurses and health care assistants. The practice serves approximately 9,000 patients from Surbiton Health Centre, a modern purpose‑built premises, and is five minutes from Surbiton station. Langley is part of a Primary Care Network (PCN) with two other practices sharing space in the Health Centre, providing excellent access to allied health care practitioners including FCPs, pharmacists, GP assistants, social prescribers, and mental health support workers. The PCN also contributes staffing for extended hours services, offering an opportunity to potentially increase working hours.
Clinical Responsibilities
* Make yourself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, triaging, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, dealing with queries, patient test results, medical reports and examinations (e.g. Insurance Companies) on behalf of the Practice, referral letters NHS/private, and paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.
* Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
* Record clear and contemporaneous IT‑based consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Compile and issue computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions, avoiding hand‑written prescriptions whenever possible.
* Prescribe in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines and within the practice agreed formulary.
* Manage the care plan list, write and review care plans and patients in accordance with current End of Life Care (EoLC) provision.
* Duty doctor cover: duty doctor PM triage appointments and medically urgent appointments should be used as part of the surgery as clinically indicated.
Other Responsibilities With The Practice
* Be aware of and comply with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health & safety, and annual QOF assessment of the Practice.
* Commit to lifelong learning and audit to ensure evidence‑based best practice.
* Contribute to the evaluation, audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
* Participate in the development of computer‑based patient records.
Person Specification
Experience
* Completion of a Vocational GP Training scheme.
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice and entry on the GP Register.
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice or Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR), or equivalent included on a Medical Performers List.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable
* Certificate in postgraduate clinical training.

Salary and Working Pattern
* Salary: depending on experience.
* Contract: Permanent.
* Working pattern: Part‑time, 4–8 sessions per week (Tuesday to Friday) plus equitable shares of home visits and on‑call duties; duty doctor cover every Thursday from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm.
