A leading UK main contractor is seeking an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join the team on a major flagship development in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the region’s most high-profile construction projects and work alongside an experienced management team on a major build scheme.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day management of site operations, helping to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standards of quality.

What You’ll Be Doing
7. Supporting the Site Management team with daily site operations
8. Assisting in coordinating subcontractors and site activities across the project
9. Monitoring works to ensure programme and quality standards are achieved
10. Promoting and maintaining high standards of health and safety on site
11. Assisting with site inspections, reporting and quality assurance processes
12. Helping manage logistics, deliveries and site coordination activities
13. Supporting progress meetings and communication with subcontractors and consultants
14. Monitoring workmanship and ensuring works are completed in line with specifications
15. Assisting with snagging, handover and project close-out activities
16. Maintaining accurate site records and documentation
What We’re Looking For
17. Previous experience in an Assistant Site Manager or supervisory role within construction
18. Strong organisational and communication skills
19. Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced site environment
20. Eagerness to learn and develop within a leading main contractor environment
21. Good understanding of health and safety procedures on construction projects
22. Valid CSCS card, SMSTS or SSSTS and First Aid qualification preferred
23. Relevant construction qualification preferred (HNC, NVQ or equivalent)
24. Positive attitude with strong attention to detail and willingness to progress
