JOB SUMMARY
The GSSC Manager will have the responsibility to protect the associates, assets and brand of TJX Europe by ensuring the smooth and effective monitoring of both the International estate and Global events that may impact the organisation.
Reporting to the Manager of the GSSC the role will involve working closely to ensure the smooth running of the operation.
The role will entail ensuring the operation respond to multiple incidents as they occur, following the agreed processes to both resolve and appropriately escalate those incidents and mitigate any losses to TJXE. This is a critical role and will be visible across the whole of TJX.
The operation will be 24/7/365 and so the flexibility to work nights, weekends and public holidays is essential as is a flexibility and a willingness to change and work additional hours.
Given the nature of the role, you will operate with appropriate levels of discretion and offer timely and assuring updates to the MO GSSC. You will be required to present findings, make recommendations and help influence outcomes.
This is a role that requires a hands-on approach, an agile approach to learning new skills and keeping up to date with new technology and responsibilities as the remit of the GSSC expands. You will provide support, coach and develop others within the organisation to understand and mitigate the risk to the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
The main duties to be completed within the role of GSSC Manager include but not limited to the following
* Manage all supervisors on shift and ensure each shift is led by a supervisor
* Responsible for and management of all control room operations including ensuring phone lines are covered, CCTV is monitored and reviewed, Alarms monitored, Incidents monitored, Key control, FEH security and other assigned tasks
* Effective and accurate management and prioritisation of alarm activations across a variety of platforms in accordance with procedure across the European estate and International Buying Offices
* Direct communication with law enforcement agencies and fire authorities to ensure the protection of the European Estate and International Buying Offices
* Monitor risk intelligence software, social media platforms and News media to identify incidents occurring globally that may have an impact on the associates, assets and brand of TJX Europe
* Ensure that incidents are responded to where incidents identified, contacting those who may be affected and offering support to those in need
* Escalate incidents appropriately that have a direct impact on the associates, assets and brand of TJX Europe
* Deal with all major incidents offering a communications hub for the command, control and crisis management teams
* Ensure that all incidents are dealt with and logged in accordance with procedures
* Ensure the safety & security of associates on Campus through effective partnership with site security
* Ensure that all staff, visitors and contractors understand their safety and security obligations while in the GSSC
* Ensure all training is completed and records kept up to date
* All HR records to be kept up to date for entire team and ensure all supervisors are aware and manage their teams accordingly
* Ensure, where appropriate all the team have relevant development plans and these are kept up to date and reviewed
* Be open and willing to undertake new training across GSCC functions to ensure the organisation has the ability to manage workload demands by redeployment of staff as necessary to business requirements
* Carry out internal and external investigations
* Identification and escalation of fraudulent activity using data sources
* Maintain excellent levels of knowledge for additional legislation around privacy in other European countries. For example, Works Council privacy requirements in Germany, Poland, Austria and the Netherlands
* Ensure the GSSC is championed globally by delivering presentations at all levels
* Escalate Loss Prevention related privacy concerns to line manager and Privacy team
* Ensure training and education needs are identified and met for all relevant associates and self
* Prioritises effective use of training and education programmes with business partners
* Is an ambassador of change and role models the company values to foster the right culture
* Partners to ensure effective and clear communication at all levels within business area. Ensures priorities are shared with wider business
* Builds effective partnership in business area to influence behaviours and drive performance. Displays partnering skills within the wider business and the building of a network in other business areas
* Partners to influence the performance and behaviour of partners, associates, management and other teams in business area as well as external third party vendors
* responsible for overseeing the corporate security operation
* Look for opportunities to continuously improve the operation and learn from best practise
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* At least 5 years' experience in working in a control centre environment or other relevant experience
* Has excellent communication skills both written and verbal giving clear and concise instructions
* Highly organised with excellent time management skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines, act on own initiative in a logical and decisive manner
* Is able to communicate effectively at multiple levels both internally and externally
* Is able to multi-task and make logical decisions whilst remaining calm under pressure
* Ability to analyse data to inform key business decisions, solve problems and identify solutions
* Able to articulate complex processes and legislation in simple form, the wider business can understand
* Able to deliver results through others
* Previous travel tracking experience desirable
* Highly computer and technology literate
* High degree of integrity
* A language skill in German, Polish, Dutch, French or Italian would be an advantage
* Previous experience in mass notification processes would be an advantage
