We are currently looking for a SEN Teacher to work in our Autism Specific Department, so expertise and experience of working with children with Autism would be essential. Whatever your background, you should be able to demonstrate that you are hardworking, committed, passionate about children, and above all, an exceptional teacher who cares deeply about making a difference to the lives of children. To be considered for this role, you will need to: • Hold QTS. • Experience of teaching students with autism and a desire to take additional SEND training, if necessary, i.e. SCERTS/ TEACCH, etc. • Have experience of using a range of SEND pedagogies. • The ability to deploy teaching assistants effectively and to liaise with mainstream teachers. • The ability to deliver a range of activities to students on a one to one or small group basis. • Have a willingness to share ideas and good practice. • Show a passion for raising the achievement of all children. • Have high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour. • Be effective communicators with staff, parents and children. • Provide and maintain a stimulating classroom environment that promotes children’s learning. • Have a positive and caring attitude with a flexible approach as every day is different here. • Have excellent behaviour management skills with the ability to work as a part of a team. • Be punctual and reliable. • Have a calm and resilient approach. • Have the ability to work within a team – we are highly motivated, lively and fun!
