We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our team at a local primary school. This role involves working full-time with a Year 2 pupil who exhibits challenging behaviour and significant social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The ideal candidate will be resilient and experienced in handling similar situations in an educational setting.
- Provide tailored support to a Year 2 pupil with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.
- Implement strategies to manage behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to integrate educational and behavioural management plans.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Utilise team-teach training techniques for physical handling when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of both pupil and staff.
- Monitor and report on the pupil's progress to teachers and parents.
- Must be trained in positive handling and able to apply physical handling strategies safely.
- Proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with challenging behaviours and SEMH.
- Resilient nature and strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents.
