We are now seeking a Finance Assistant to join us on an initial 12-month maternity cover contract.
The Role
This is a hands-on finance role with core transactional responsibility at its foundation. You will operate at the center of a scaling, fast-paced organisation where accuracy, ownership, and collaboration directly support operational delivery and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly labour payments and resolve associated queries.
Manage the purchase ledger, organise payment runs, and liaise with the supply chain.
Support daily accounting tasks, including data entry and account reconciliations.
Manage Credit Control across Sales and Retention's, including Accrued Income analysis.
Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Provide general administrative support to the Finance team.
Skills & Experience
HNC / HND in Accounting (desirable) or qualified by experience; AAT considered.
Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or similar role.
Having worked in an SME (Construction background favourable)
Solid understanding of core accounting principles.
High attention to detail and strong accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; Xero experience advantageous.
Confident communicator, able to work independently and collaboratively.
Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
