We are now looking for Trainee Machine Operatives to join our growing team. We need trainees to join our production site in Lockerbie starting in September 2025.
The aim of this apprenticeship is to help you learn and develop a range of transferable skills and potential in a demanding and fast-moving environment. You will be supported by a friendly team and experienced mentors who will invest time and effort in helping you make the most out of this opportunity. You will be responsible for succeeding at work and in formal training, in an environment that will be challenging but also one that will enable you to enjoy your learning experience.
This apprenticeship programme is designed to develop you over eighteen months to become a respected and successful Machine Operative. You will obtain a nationally recognised apprenticeship as a Level 2 Material Processing Plant Operator.
During your apprenticeship, you will work with experienced site staff in an efficient and safe way, and will learn to:
* Operate and carry out essential maintenance on our various fixed production lines across the site;
* Operate Forklift Trucks in a safe manner;
* Understand how to work safely, managing your time effectively.
You will have a minimum of 4 National 5s/GCSE qualifications at standard grade C/grade 4 or above, including in Maths and English.
You will be a driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with a positive and can-do attitude, happy to work as part of a team and willing to learn and develop.
The key to success for this apprenticeship is to have the ability to balance time between studies and work to ensure success in both.
