We are seeking a compassionate and committed Registered Nurse (RGN) to join our Adult Inpatient Services team at Dougie Mac. Our 28-bed unit provides high-quality palliative and end-of-life care to adults with life-limiting conditions across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire. Job Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, compassionate care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate person-centred care plans
* Support patients and families through symptom control, transition, and end-of-life care
* Lead shifts in the absence of senior staff; supervise Health Care Support Workers
* Promote safe, effective practice in line with hospice and NMC standards
* Contribute to multi-disciplinary team discussions, reviews, and care planning meetings
* Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with NMC and organisational policies
* Support quality improvement through audits, clinical supervision, and reflective practice
* Adhere to hospice policies including infection prevention, health and safety, safeguarding, and data protection
* Promote Dougie Mac values and professional standards at all times
* Receive induction, ongoing CPD, clinical supervision, and opportunities to enhance knowledge and practice
Qualifications
* Essential
o NMC RGN registration
o Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience
* Desirable
o Degree in Palliative Care
o Completion of Practice Supervisor/Practice Assessor training
o Advanced Communication Skills Training
Experience
* Essential
o Sound knowledge of current developments in palliative care
o Desire to work in palliative care
o Transferable nursing knowledge and skills adaptable to a palliative environment
* Desirable
o Palliative care experience
o Long-term conditions nursing experience
o Experience of clinical audit and research
o Experience in taking charge of a team or equivalent
