Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Environment Cornwall/Devon What you will be doing: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team at Galliford Try. You will work on our South West Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes. Ideally, you will be based in or around the Cornwall/Devon area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region. We're seeking somebody who is highly proactive and dynamic, with the will to learn and develop into a strong commercial professional. Day to day, you'll be working closely with the Commercial Team and Project teams to ensure the correct project controls are in place covering cost, cash and contract management; striving for continuous improvement and learning core skills, with a view to further development in the career ladder. As part of your role, you'll support the Contracts Manager and Commercial Team in the day to day management of a range of contracts, compiling and preparing the monthly Cost and Value Reports (CVR's) and assisting with the Earned Value forecasting of secured projects. You'll be responsible for assisting with Contract Administration, including management of the Early Warning and Compensation Events processes as well as taking part in Contract/Cost to Complete Reviews. It will be your role to compile and submit monthly Applications for Payment in accordance with client requirements, compile and submit Cost Profiles and assist in the submissions of Final Accounts, ensuring accurate allocation of costs to projects and populating journals to correct any identified anomalies and ensuring that Applications for Payment are certified and paid by clients on the specified dates within the Contract in addition to actively pursuing cash for aged debt. About You: Alongside your relevant degree and/or experience of working in a relevant Commercial environment, we'd like you to have first class time management skill and advanced problem-solving skills.
