I have been retained by a well established service business based in the Wigan area to recruit an Financial Controller. Reporting to the CFO this role is of critical importance to the success of the business. The Financial Controller will have direct exposure to shareholders, banks and asset-based funders, auditors, lawyers and will be a major source of support to the Board.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct line management of the financial control, credit risk and control and purchase ledger teams, with further oversight of insurance (management of insurance relationships and coverage suitability) and property matters (including review of costs and renewals).
* Preparation and review of monthly P+L, balance sheet, cash flow and KPI’s for inclusion in the board pack.
* Assisting in PE & banking reporting including working capital management and covenant headroom analysis
* Budgeting and forecasting
* Review financial elements of cap-ex business cases
* Leading a commitment to continual improvement
Person specification:
* ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
* Knowledge of complex revenue recognition
* Experience of private equity and working with funding banks.
Skills/Abilities:
* Commercially astute.
* Strong technical accounting / reporting knowledge (FRS102).
* Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
* Leading by example and developing teams to reach their true potential
* Strong excel skills and knowledge of ERP systems
