Craft Attendant Galashiels Salary from £27,498 per annum Closing Date - Friday 27th of February 2026 Help us create a better future, quicker As a Craft Attendant, you’ll assist a Craftsperson and undertake preparatory work and finalise work on completion of craft activities. Act as Safety attendant to the craftsperson on site in accordance with training skills and authorisation levels. Ensuring all site works are carried out safely including, where appropriate, acting as the nominated person in charge of safety for the duration of all works attended. Assist the Districts in meeting its 6 hour restoration target by maintaining generator readiness, transporting to and from site, positing and and standing by the generators while in use including, generator fuel management and functionality. Assist in various activities including delivery of outage letters, verbally advising customers of outages of the reasons for proposed outages per the Pre Vet processes, management of materials including transportation, and assisting in maintaining the Depots in a orderly and safe condition. What you’ll be doing Ensure the District standby generator fleet is ready to be deployed ensuring fully fueled and in an orderly and safe condition. Transport standby generators to and from site, liaise and interface with customers and lead customer person on site, assisting with positioning and deployment and standby generators. Assist in issuing, collection and delivery of materials as and when required. Assist in progressing projects by delivering of outage notifications, advising customers per the pre vet process. Maintain the District Depot facilities in an orderly and safe condition. Prepares, cleans and makes available tools, equipment and materials as required by craftsperson. Assists with craft duties subject to safety and training. Prepares site for work, cleans and tidies site upon completion of work. Operates small plant under the appropriate p authorisation. Drives vehicles and carries out relevant roadworthiness checks. What you’ll bring Knowledge and understanding of Craft Techniques and procedures e.g. Jointing, Fitting. Sound working knowledge of Energy Networks Safety rules and procedures. Certified to use appropriate small plant Driving and towing licence and associated P authorisation Knowledge of Energy Networks plant and equipment. Working knowledge of compliance with NRSWA requirements.
