About the Company
I am recruiting directly for the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), and I am looking for an accomplished professional to lead, resource and manage Enabling & Earthworks project packages for Sizewell C. This is an extraordinary opportunity to contribute to a landmark 3.2-gigawatt power station, generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and supporting the UK's energy future for at least 60 years. As part of the CWA, you will join an alliance of industry leaders and play a pivotal role in delivering a project that stands at the heart of innovation, sustainability and technical excellence. You'll work alongside teams from Sizewell C, Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics, and Laing O'Rourke, collaborating with key stakeholders including government, regulators, investors and local communities.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage multi-disciplinary design teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, code-compliant Enabling & Earthworks packages
* Define the scope and requirements of design work through to commissioning and handover
* Champion 'Safe by Design' principles to enhance health, safety and wellbeing across the project
* Oversee design delivery performance for time, cost, quality and change management
* Interface with internal functions and external partners to ensure project and statutory requirements are fully understood and addressed
* Ensure third party approvals and requirements are discharged appropriately during the design stage
* Engage with commercial, procurement, project controls, construction, and HSW teams to resolve technical challenges
* Facilitate collaborative meetings to share best practice, promote innovation and ensure consistency of design
* Challenge and support designers to de-risk solutions, drive value engineering, and optimise costs and programme outcomes
* Coordinate with the Technical Assurance Team to ensure designs are verified, validated and configured
Qualifications
* Degree-level qualification and/or 5-10 years' experience in this field (essential)
* Professional accreditation and/or sector-specific MSc degree (desirable)
Required Skills
* Strong technical knowledge and experience in design and earthworks
* Proven ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams across organisations
* Excellent communication skills to engage with management, clients, design teams and third parties
* Deep understanding of project scheduling, commercial arrangements and budget control
* Clear grasp of design and engineering interfaces with construction, commissioning, supply chain and other stakeholders
