Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Locum Consultant Radiologist to join our dedicated Radiology team at NHS Dumfries and Galloway for a period of 12 months. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-quality imaging service within a supportive and forward‑thinking environment.
Responsibilities
We look for a radiologist who thrives in a small team environment, demonstrating a collaborative and supportive approach to colleagues. You should be willing to provide cross‑cover when needed and actively contribute to maintaining service continuity. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, particularly in responding to short‑notice changes in schedules or workload.
You will provide a broad range of diagnostic radiology services, sharing workload across CT, MRI, ultrasound, and plain film reporting. Subspecialty interests are welcomed, and the post includes participation in the general radiology on‑call rota with flexibility for part‑time arrangements and working from home.
You will work closely with colleagues across multiple specialties, contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, and support the education of junior doctors. We are committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development, and we welcome applicants who share these values.
Qualifications
Applicants must be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCST or Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR(CP) at the time of interview for the post.
Contact
We welcome informal contact from prospective candidates who wish to better understand the role.
