An Exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant in the Stroke Team based at Trafford Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of the Stroke Therapy team to assist registered Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists in the provision of therapeutic care and rehabilitation to Stroke patients.
* Assist the therapists in delivering high quality rehabilitation care and support discharges from hospital.
* Work directly with patients to carry out treatment programs as directed by the therapists and report back; motivate patients to maximise their rehabilitation potential.
* Be confident and competent in carrying your own caseload and reporting back to the team; contribute to weekend service and work with the wider multidisciplinary teams.
* Engage in administrative tasks, equipment management, cleaning duties and general IT skills as required.
* Attend handovers, feed information into and back from the therapy team, and communicate effectively with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications and experience
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.
* Be able to demonstrate moving and handling skills; willingness to learn and develop new skills.
* Experience on a hospital ward is advantageous.
