This Community Engagement Officer role with ILM Highland offers the chance to work directly with communities across the Highlands through the Rescued and Ready project. This is a hands on role focused on promoting repair, reuse and sustainability while building strong local relationships and delivering practical community workshops.
The role
* Lead the design, coordination and delivery of the Rescued and Ready project.
* Build relationships with local communities, schools, partner organisations and stakeholders.
* Develop and deliver workshops focused on repair, reuse and upcycling of small household electrical items.
* Promote ILM Highland’s wider services and sustainability message across the Highlands.
* Attend outreach events and represent the organisation in the community.
* Monitor activity, gather feedback and produce reports on outcomes and impact.
Working pattern
* Part time role.
* 10 hours per week.
* Fixed term for 1 year.
* Some travel across the Highlands may be required.
* Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
What we are looking for
* Experience in community engagement, outreach or education work.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to organise and deliver workshops or group activities.
* Passion for sustainability, waste reduction and community development.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience of environmental or circular economy projects is helpful but not essential.
