About the Role
This is a pivotal leadership position within the procurement function, responsible for driving sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and operational excellence. The role involves managing a team of buyers and supplier development professionals, ensuring alignment with global supply chain objectives and delivering value through strategic purchasing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a high-performing purchasing team, fostering capability growth and accountability.
* Drive UK sourcing strategies aligned with global procurement goals, sustainability targets, and risk mitigation plans.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to support early engagement and improved procurement outcomes.
* Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance across Quality, Cost, Delivery, Innovation, and Sustainability.
* Oversee tendering, cost analysis, and value assessments to secure best value for money.
* Deliver year-on-year cost reductions and support continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We’re looking for a proven purchasing leader with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll have:
* Strong background in procurement and supply chain management, including team leadership.
* Expertise in cost control, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
* Knowledge of purchasing systems and manufacturing processes.
* Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
Desirable
* Professional qualifications (e.g., CIPS/MCIPS).
* Experience in supplier development, risk management, and quality tools.
* Exposure to international procurement and compliance standards.
