Are you a Practitioner Psychologist with a passion for working with Older Adults? Whether you are experienced, newly qualified or about to qualify - we want to hear from you!
Applications are invited from Practitioner Psychologists to join our well established multi-disciplinary team in Specialist Older Adult Mental Health Services (SOAMHS). You'll be based in Hastings, working collaboratively with psychiatrists, MHWPs, mental health nurses, occupational therapists and therapy assistants.
Please talk with us if you have an area of work you're passionate about and keen to develop expertise in, such as dementia care, neuropsychology, developing skills in CAIT, family work, trauma or complex emotional and relational needs. We'd be keen to hear and see what we can do to support your career development.
Newly qualified psychologists and those completing their training shortly are invited to apply; the role can be offered as a Band 7 preceptorship moving to 8a after successful completion of the preceptorship (Please note, if there is an outstanding dissertation due to be submitted within 6 month delaying HCPC registration but all clinical placements and training are completed this would be offered as a fixed term trainee role until HCPC registration)
SOAMHS is a multi-professional community team and psychologists are valued members of the service, offering specialist assessment and interventions, including neuropsychology. You will be creative and flexible and able to inspire others in working with older people with complex mental health problems and comorbidities (including frailty and dementia), their families and carers. Psychologists in SOAMHS are key members of our local leadership team and play a valuable role in team and service development. Our SOAMHS teams place a strong emphasis on co-production and drawing on the expertise of people with lived experience and we welcome staff who share these values to join our service.
You will have skills and interests in supporting colleagues to develop and use psychological thinking in their work and in contributing psychological perspectives to client's care plans. Another key role will be developing psychological formulation and team consultation and providing support, supervision and training to enhance psychologically based interventions within the wider team.
We encourage and support flexible working. We know that a positive work/life balance brings about huge health-related benefits, which has a positive impact on the care we provide. Please speak to us about flexible working. If it works for you and works for the role, we'll do our best to make it happen.
