Your New Role
As Procurement Manager (Category Manager), you will lead procurement activity across a range of spend categories, acting as a trusted business partner to assigned directorates. You will:
* Develop and deliver category strategies aligned to business priorities.
* Manage end-to-end procurement including market analysis, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract award.
* Ensure compliance with Procurement Policy, PCR 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
* Support stakeholders with specification development, commercial guidance and contract management.
* Build strong supplier relationships and drive performance, value and continuous improvement.
* Analyse spend data to identify opportunities, manage forward plans and maintain accurate contract information.
* Provide training, advice and mentoring to colleagues where required.
What You'll Need to Succeed
* CIPS qualified, working towards CIPS, or equivalent procurement experience.
* Strong commercial awareness and proven experience managing end-to-end procurements.
* Knowledge of PCR 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
* Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong Excel capability and confidence working with complex data.
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to influence and drive improvement.
